And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2
It is said that we’re living in the information age. Those in the know reckon that today we create as much information every 2 days as we created from the beginning of time up until 2003. I’ll say that again:we create as much information in two days now as we did from the dawn of man through 2003.That is a lot of information! We can find out anything about everything online. We can make things today to helps us do things we didn’t have yesterday. Information is all around us yet 21% of the world’s population is in extreme poverty (living on less than $1.25/day) and more than 26% of the world’s population is illiterate. That means more than 1 in 5 people don’t have enough to get them through the day and more than 1 in 4 people can’t read. Why is it like this when we have so much at our disposable that we can basically do or become anything we want? The simple answer is that people have stopped developing themselves.
None of us are born into this world as we are right now. We go through a process of change, transformation and renewal. If you measured a caterpillar by its stature as a worm, you’d never believe that it could become a butterfly. It doesn’t look very pretty crawling & dragging itself along the ground, but once it goes through its process, it transforms into a beautiful flying butterfly that dances effortlessly through the air. God’s intention with us was never to leave us as we are. He is a God that goes from glory to glory. We are the ones that get set in our ways and that like our comfort. God sees so much more for us and He has so much more for us – more than we can ever dream or imagine. All of us in our heart of hearts wants to be more and we want to do more but we get stuck with what we have because it seems right, and comfortable and the more seems so far and scary. We become frustrated and irritated with our situations but just accept it as our lot in life and we give in to the mundane and average when God has called us to be excellent and above average. How do you get to that place of constantly transforming yourself and your life? It all starts with what you know. If you’re going to get from where you are to where God wants you to be you need to get a new set of instructions.
1) Keep finding new information. The bible says in Proverbs 11:9 that by knowledge we are delivered. If you want to change your situation you need to get new information. The old information got you to where you are but it’s not going to get you to where you need to be.
2) Become a master asker. The bible says in Matthew 7 that when we seek, knock & ask you will find answers. You need to go to who has the answers to the question you have about where you want to go. When you start asking the right people the right questions you’ll start finding the answers that help you change your situation.
3) You don’t attract what you want, you attract who you are.Once you’ve asked gained new information and asked the right questions, you need to start becoming that what you see. Everyone wants the big house and the fancy car, but it’s only the people that put measures in place to become more that get more. If you are going to get that what God has in mind for you, you need to start becoming what you see. What you want is not going to come just because you want it, it’s going to come because you have enlarged your capacity to have that.
Don’t stay as you are, become who God has called you to be. Start getting new information about what you want and about what you don’t know and God will transform you beyond what you ever thought possible.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8
